REQUIREMENTS : NQF Level three (Grade 11) / A National Certificate in Construction; plus A minimum of three years avenue work renovation experience, plus A legitimate driver’s licence (Minimum Code B). Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Required: Knowledge of upkeep manuals, protection guidelines and the costing system. Knowledge of everyday procedures. Knowledge of weekly work and plant returns. Knowledge of the carrier shipping programme. Knowledge of departmental reporting shape inclusive of transportation committees. Knowledge of legislation/policies and methods pertaining to Public Sector. Knowledge of disciplinary procedures. Knowledge of EPMDS. Planning and organisational skills. Ability to learn, recognize and apply. Problem fixing skills. Supervisory skills. Communication skills. Numeracy skills. Computer literacy. DUTIES : Support street development and/or preservation work through, inter alia, the following: Construction of culvert and facet drains. Erect and hold metal guardrails and gabions. Construction of avenue earth and layer works. Clean and maintain roads, sidewalks and resting areas (verge maintenance). Surfacing and pothole patching. Road fencing and pipe laying. Setting of rod markings/signs. Install roads signs and symptoms and barricade the work area. Supervise activities in recognize of street development and/or renovation work thru inter alia the following: Application of security and precautionary measures. Conduct Inspections. Exercise manipulate over tools, substances and different equipment. Allocate duties and oversee work performance. Maintenance of equipment. Co- ordinate the blading program. Exercise manipulate over visitors accommodation.
