SALARY : R228 321 per annum (Level 05)

REQUIREMENTS : Applicants should be in possession of a Grade 10 or equivalent. No preceding experience required. Job related skills: Computer competencies and lookup skills. The capacity to work proactively and beneath pressure. Ability to work successfully and efficiently at all times. Be inclined to work prolonged working hours. Willingness to travel. A legitimate driver’s license.
DUTIES : Perform lookup precise (according to challenge plan) things to do in admire of research topics (animals/plants): Taking, processing, packaging of samples. Drying of samples. Determine moisture loss in samples. Safekeeping of research equipment. Preparation of lookup tools /facilities. Record information (quality, weight, size, best etc. Perform accepted preservation things to do in respect of lookup topics (animals/plants): Planting, Soil cultivation and preparation e.g. cleaning, houghing, etc. Irrigation of crops. Apply chemical crop safety e.g. function a knapsack. Reaping, grading, weighing, packing and storage of farm produce. Daily tending of crops/orchards/vineyards e.g. Pruning, weeding etc. Watering of livestock. Care for unwell livestock. Dipping, vaccination & closing. Assist with calving, lambing, hatching etc. Count livestock. Shepherding, moving, weighing of stay stock. Slaughtering, culling. Weighing, milling, mixing of feeds. Feeding. Milking. Cleaning of facilities. Disposal of farm waste material. Provide water grant for cattle and farm buildings. Care for gear e.g. cleaning, oiling, sharpening etc. Firefighting and prevention. Opening of springs, troughs and unblocking of drains. Loading /off-loading. Assist lecturers and college students with realistic work and work integrated learning: Prepare realistic material. Provide hands-on demonstrations to students. Transporting of college students to sensible sites. Care for student plants/crop/animals all through students’ holidays. Perform administrative tasks: Updating of registers. Daily document keeping. Keep time sheets on work performed through casuals.
